The early battle for pole emerged between new boy Harjan and myself. We both held pole until Graeme arrived & duly posted a 1:19:95. The battle was then on for 2nd! Harjan took it by 0.05 secs with a 1:20:94 Then GPL style events influenced the race in a big way. I went out for a few laps with a full fuel load prior to the race start. Only to find Karissa in a big spin whilst going for a qualifying lap.

We touch - no big deal - Spins & offs are all part of qualifying. I go into a 720 spin ending up just off the track I go back to the pits, rather than shift-r in front of someone. To my dismay I am DQ'd for reversing on the track

As I sit there in disbelief, the chat lights up with comments about me flying. I knew nothing about this thinking it was referring to the spin. The replay shows what was going on. I get dumped back into the pit stall with one wheel. I've no idea what happened - I certainly did not experience it first hand - it appeared to happen whilst the DQ board was up.

I looked at the spin incident again but saw nothing - others were replaying the weird incident - crashing the game for ZZ, Karissa & Graeme. ZZ made it the others did not. This rather overshadowed the fine battle between ZZ.... ... and John for fourth (now third with my DQ) with 1:22s

An unfamiliar position - where's the flag? Up front the pole is empty, Karissa is missing in front of me. ZZ's relief at getting back in for the start is short lived, blowing up down the straight.

The two remaining Ferraris get together, Jack heads for the grass. Richard watches Tim go off & follows
ky11.jpg (12018 bytes) ky12.jpg (12442 bytes)
All this helps my cause in charging through the field - don't cross there Tim! Up front John hassles Harjan
ky13.jpg (12831 bytes) ky14.jpg (10373 bytes)
Further back Jack, Richard & Joe get together

A few laps on & John is still pushing Harjan

ky15.jpg (10365 bytes) ky16.jpg (14489 bytes)
Tim in full flight I'm pushing hard to catch John
ky17.jpg (10768 bytes) ky19.jpg (15219 bytes)
And I gradually reel him in Sportingly John lets me by - perhaps he still had memories of a green car behind him!
ky20.jpg (9761 bytes) ky21.jpg (12616 bytes)
Harjan had a few narrow scrapes - here he narrowly misses a spinning Richard Joe takes the opportunity to squeeze past the recovering Richard
ky22.jpg (13056 bytes) ky23.jpg (11969 bytes)
Leaving me to face lapping them together... Until Richard comes to grief at the same corner as last lap
ky24.jpg (13467 bytes) ky25.jpg (12929 bytes)
John's used this to close right up Joe moves over for me & John to pass cleanly
ky26.jpg (10778 bytes) ky27.jpg (13554 bytes)
John gets a tow - pretty manacing sight Bill's running fourth
ky28.jpg (12350 bytes) ky29.jpg (12214 bytes)
John keeps the pressure up Jack gets off the track for the leader to pass!
ky30.jpg (13030 bytes) ky31.jpg (11086 bytes)
You can't park there mate - Jack all but comes to a halt on the racing line trying to let me squeeze by on the inside. I'm not prepared to risk it so tuck in behind him, not realising he was at a virtual standstill. The lightest of touches - but in GPL enough to flip Jack. John deforms his suspension running into the stationary traffic jam & is forced to shift-r, losing him a lot of time on cold tyres.
ky32.jpg (15074 bytes) ky33.jpg (14617 bytes)
Tim also gets out of the leader's way Bill decides Harjan's progress has been far too easy - Harjan dives for the inside at turn 1.
ky34.jpg (10931 bytes) ky35.jpg (13799 bytes)
But Bill turn 1 belongs to Bill - & slams the door firmly shut! This close attention will end in tears & half a lap later - does.
ky36.jpg (12569 bytes) ky37.jpg (14138 bytes)
Harjan manages to keep it going without spinning & rejoins the track Bill is not so fortunate - you CAN shift-r there Bill
ky38.jpg (15605 bytes) ky39.jpg (12410 bytes)
Last minute avoiding action for me as Tim spins in front of me Harjan wins his debut race. Second for me, John third & Tim in fourth.
