A half decent battle for pole emerged between myself & Graeme Nash. I set the early pace with a 1:28.68. I knew Graeme could go quicker - but you never know in qualifying. Graeme soon responded - pipping my time by 0.03 sec. the battle was on.

I failed to improve on my time, however, & later Graeme extended his lead with a 1:28.39. I needed to pull out a personal best to beat it. I was on a flyer when I met traffic. Richard Scott appeared to pull over to let me by. But as I closed took the racing line after all

So I took the inside line, hoping to maintain my speed Unfortunately Richard also turns in - with the inevitable contact - & ruined laps for both of us. I guess I was too eager, but its hard not to go for it when battling for pole. Especially when you've just got a tow.

But not for long - just too sideways Too eager to get after John - there she blows. It should have ended there, but I misinterpreted the rule change on fires & wrongly assumed it to mean blow ups as well

The result was I spun on cold tyres & took out Richard - Sorry Richard - shouldn't have been there - rightly penalised. ZZ gives Joe a wake up call!
